Hello!
My name is Gustaf Sundin, and Im living in Gothenburg, Sweden. I am right now working on a school-project about patriotic Irish folksongs, and I am first of all going to analyse three songs about the Black and Tans: Kevin Barry, Come out ye Black and Tans and The Black and Tan gun.
I was wondering if you could help me by answer some questions? You would help me a lot and Id be very thankful! :)
Do you know who has written these songs, or where I can find more information about them: Kevin Barry, Come out ye Black and Tans and The Black and Tan gun.
Do you know any artist or band who has played the song; The Black and Tan gun?
I have no idea.
Do you know for what purpose these songs were written?
Are they still popular songs?
(Do people sing them on pubs in Ireland, or something like that now days?)
What do they mean to people in general?
If you have time to answer these questions, send it to: dunkeltimma@hotmail.com
Thank you very much! / Gustaf Sundin

God bless the United States, the United Kingdom and all other decent and free loving societies. While the French should show a little respect and gratitude the Germans should know better by now. Arabs are cowardly by nature and the U.N blows. Lets replace it with a confederation of Democratic states. Then we won't have to worry about who sits on the Human Rights Commission. BTW- why is it that socialists have to force you to do what they think you should do? Where is the peace and liberty in that? If you like the Pogues you will also like Flogging Molly. I saw them on Halloween at the House of Blues and they are great in concert.

Much as i love the pogues, "Fairytale Of New York" gets on my fucking nerves. It's the only pogues song anyone knows, and it's not even one of their best songs. It makes Shane look like a sentimental old drunk, when every pogues fan knows he's far more than that. So, for everyone who only knows that one, go out and BUY ONE OF THE ALBUMS!!! You won't be disappointed.

Good luck to ireland for the world cup. Remember people, education is the key. The more Irish people who hold degrees from english universities, the more influence we have. We can stop the constant racism I, and many other ethnic minorities, face in england. RIP Bobby Sands

Fuck the Revolution!
Wheres the glory in taking a man from his bed and gunning him down in front of his wife and children.
Wheres the glory in that?
Wheres the glory in bombing a rememberance day parade of old age pensioners, the medal brought out and polished up for the day.
Wheres the glory in that?
To leave them dying or crippled for life under the rubble of a revolution that the majority of the people of my country dont want.

congratulations! well done page. i was looking for the lyrics of "Ireland Unfree" and this was my way to your site. I always thought that Germans are only interested in the beauty of Ireland and when you tell them that you are driving through the "North", their only reaction is "But it is war there, aren't you afraid?". Hardly anyone understands what's really going on there and when you try to fill them in a bit, they hardly believe it. all they see is violence but they won't understand the reasons. well, I'll be back, promised. slán go fóill, kassy

Congratulations on a top site. I'm a journalist for 'Front magazine' in London and I came across your site while researching a feature on Murals in Northern Ireland. I've told a few people about it as you've put a lot of work into it and for that you should be commended. I will have a photographer with me so I'll let you know if I can get anything for your site. I've been trying to find the words to 'four green fields' for a while so thanks for that. I love the Pogues, I love irish traditional music and my Irish heritage. I respect the old IRA who stood up against all odds to liberate the country. However, I think the provo's are fucking wankers. How anyone who's tactics are shooting pregnant women on the street and running away can be called brave is a mystery to me. There just a stupid bunch of fucking cowards and if you support them your a fucking nob and you know it. Grow up!!!

I am disgusted to see such a page as this. It is full of Nazi IRA rubbish. You obivously don't live in Northern Ireland and do not have a clue of what the IRA are doing to the ordinary people of Northern Ireland, both Catholic and Protestant. How can you justify and support IRA murders going out to shoot fathers, mothers, children, sons, daughters. Over the last 30 years the IRA has shoot, bombed, hung, tortured, raped, etc all religions in Northern Ireland. Go to http://www.victims.org.uk a d see what the IRA have done. The IRA are not fighting no big was against the british. They are murdering catholics and protestant, people who want to live peacefully beside each other. IRA/SinnFein all murders and there will never be peace in Northern Ireland until people like yourselves accept democrazy and individual rights. Stop living in the 17th century and start living in a today's deomcracy. I pary that one day you will be able to respect people's belief instead of using NAZI tactics to wipe out people. Justice for the victims of the troubles, both catholic and Protestant, NOT for IRA/SinnFein murders! A Victim

Possibly the best personal site I've seen on the net! I am a 15-year-old Irish-Australian and I think the Irish are the best people in the world. I wish to move to Ireland when much older and it would be great to get in touch. I have done extensive independant reading in Irish history, people and culture even to the point of getting a book direct from Ireland sent by a distant cousin. Of course, we don't get taught anything related to Irish history or any history for that m tter, and the history we do get taught is biast English history, taken from English books by English authors published in England for the English. And these limited teachings are for the better part taught by Right-Wing conservative-voting monarchist Angl -Saxons. All this despite the fact that Irish is the largest ethnic group statisticly speaking standing at 39%! So you can imagine how refreshing it is to view such pages as this. Although it's a damn shame that I can't hear any of the sounds. I left my Email address but I don't think it works. You can be assured that as long as I have the internet I will be a regular visitor. GLORY, GLORY TO OLD IRELAND!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SUPER-GENIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Deine Homepage (V 28. Meld dich mal Dirk
